People love to talk about themselves. Don't believe me? Just observe any conversation. Most people talk about themselves unknowingly or as a way to relate to someone. The problem when it comes to business is that salespeople, business owners, and other stakeholders do this too.

When it comes to business, the focus should be outward. Understand your customers' pain points. You can have the best solution in the world, but if it doesn't help your customer, it is the worst solution for them.


The outward focus should apply to marketing and sales efforts. There are times to talk about how great your business and solutions are, but these are very limited and should still have an outward lens.


Always remember, it's not you; it's them.
